Building Permits

In the building permit department, we are collectively responsible for the region's building permit cases.

A good building permit process is a significant part of Gotland's development, and as an employee with us, your role is important.

We are now looking for an inspector within supervision for a temporary position of 9 months.

Your Responsibilities

As an inspector, you are a problem solver! You primarily work with supervision within the planning and building laws, driving cases from start to finish. Often, these cases may involve complex legal issues – which you see as a challenge to solve. You work independently, but you are also part of a team where you are close to the entire building permit process.

As an inspector, you will among other things:

• Process cases of illegal construction through investigation and supervision visits
• Contact customers regarding supervision issues
• Prepare and present cases for decision in the Environmental and Building Committee
• Participate in internal quality and development processes

The position is located in Visby, and in this role, it is possible to perform parts of the work from home.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone with targeted education for building permit inspectors, or alternatively other education or work experience deemed equivalent. You have good knowledge of planning and building laws and experience in processing cases. Since you will be making site visits in the role, it is required that you have a B driver's license.

It is an advantage if you have worked within a politically governed organization and have experience with our case management system NOVA.

You are attentive and have the ability to combine service and authority in your customer contacts. You are a confident person who can balance different demands and be factual and pedagogical in your meetings with various stakeholders.
